Joe is a recently single father who lives with his new girl friend Elizabeth and son Tyler. Joe's main purpose on the team is to take out assigned targets with his partner Susi. Joe was pulled into contract killing because at one point his son Tyler was deathly ill and needed an expensive medical treatment to be cured, thus justifying he and his wife Adriana's decision to conduct a professional hit. Joe holds many dark secrets from his younger son, including why his mother is not around anymore after he woke up with just his father at his side. Joe's day job is that of a life guard and swim instructor. Craig eventually bonds with Joe like a brother.
Craig is a young trust fund kid who lived with his brother Kevin. In the first episode he comes home after karate practice to find his older brother murdered. Shortly after this he finds his brother and family were involved with drug trafficking. Craig eventually joins to the team, bonding with them like a family, Craig has no job but takes over his brother’s position as a drug dealer so he can keep up his life style. This decision makes him a target yet again. His path of revenge to avenge his older brother’s death leads him to discover that the family for years he loved are the ones he could not trust. With his brother gone it is really only he and his sister Megan left.
Susi is Joe’s partner; together they conduct the hits that are assigned. Joe and Susi have a love hate relationship. Susi can come off as a brat to Joe and can be overly trigger happy some times. Susi keeps her family at a distance at times because of dark secrets that relate to her family from her child hood. She came into contract killing at a very young age by way of manipulation by a family member. Her day job is that of a hair stylist. Her brother is the only family that tries to keep in contact with her.
Charlie has worked his way up the ranks and now runs the team. He is a master manipulator. Even though he has a hard side, he sees his team like family, if, they can earn his trust. He is great in business and also has a law degree and is well connected to many in the crime world. Everyone on the team he himself found and groomed. One of his darker strengths is to find a weakness in some one and use it to his advantage. One of his regular clients is about to run for the District Attorney office. Charlie works as a part time divorce attorney which helps him find potential clients. In his case the saying about its cheaper to kill them then divorce them is true.
Elizabeth found a form of freedom by murder, after being asked by Charlie the team leader to conduct a hit. After, she continues to stick with the team and is mainly used to clean up the scenes of hits after they accrue. She has a strong loyalty to Charlie for he is the one that gave her the mental strength to become free. Joe and his son Tyler live with her at her home. Her day job is that of a suicide hot line worker from home, doing this gives her ideas on how to make crime scenes look like creative suicides and also helps supply hidden locations to dump bodies if needed, or conduct hits. She has trust issues and only opens up about her problems to the targets after they are dead.
Cid is the tech guy of the team, he is very good with computers, and he assists in setting up locations and handles all electronic surveillance about a target. After the hit he arrives to take pictures and erase in electronic data that the team was ever present. Cid joins the team because he needed his record erased for Cid was a part of a dark internet type group that was responsible for a massive hacking that brought down a large banking entity. He loves video games and works as a game tester, his love and attention to detail from violent games he plays helps numb him to murder, and also gives him ideas on how to creatively take out a target, he can be very anal retentive at times as well and nervous

Tyler is Joe's younger 4 year old son, he is a very cute innocent boy that has no idea his mother is dead. He takes Karate classes with Craig. Later Craig figures out that Tyler's father is a contract killer after warming up to Tyler. Tyler looks to him as a older brother. Joe loves his son and in some ways kills for his son survival
Megan is Craig's younger sister, with Kevin gone it is only she and Craig left. Megan holds many disturbing secrets and dark intentions from Craig that come forth throughout the first season as Craig sets out on his path of revenge.
Myra is the girl that got away from Charlie. She just got back into town and has come back into Charlies life. She is great friends with Regina, she helps transport black market weapons for her. She slowly is pulled into the world of murder for hire soon after she returns.

She is associated with many drug runners and mobsters in the city she lives in, mainly by her former dead husbands. On the front she runs charities and her church groups. Diana is aware of Craig and his families past in drug trafficking. She is someone who has employed Charlie on a semi regular basis.
Lydia is a old time client of Charlie. She is a woman with a past that plans to run for political office. For her campaign to run smooth she needs several people in her past handled by Charlie.
Alex is Susie's meddling brother who takes Karate at Craig and Tyler's Dojo. He tends to worry a great deal about Susi even though she finds his persistent concern annoying, and manipulative. We will find out later in the series that Alex manipulated his sister to commit a awful crime at a very young age.
Maurice runs a dojo that Alex, Craig, and Joe's son Tyler take classes at. Maurice tries to become a voice of reason to Craig as he embarks on his path of revenge. For Maurice has many dark secrets and see's Craig starting on a path that could destroy him.
